The Sex Talk You Never Got: Three Things Every Woman Should Know
PLAY THE EPISODE
By Francie Winslow
Most of us never had a sex talk that truly honored our design, reflected God’s heart, or made space for our questions.
In this new mini-series on the Female by Design podcast, I’m going back to the beginning: What does it really mean to be female by God’s design? What are the truths we were meant to know about our bodies, our pleasure, and our wholeness? And how can we begin to reclaim that design today, right where we are?
This isn’t a conversation about shame, fear, or performance. It’s an invitation to come home to your body and to God's original dream for you as a woman made in His image.
“We’re not just talking about sex—we’re talking about being made in the image of God, embodied, alive, and designed to express His beauty through our very bodies.”
In Part 1, I begin unpacking three foundational truths every woman deserves to know—but likely never heard:
Why knowing your body is a spiritual practice
How shame blocks our ability to understand and enjoy our design
What the Bible reveals about God’s intention for sex (and why it’s so good)
How women’s bodies were made for pleasure, not just reproduction or duty
The radical truth that sex is for you, too
“God has made us female and called it very good—beloved, valued, given a voice and a vision to embody the love of God in a unique way that only a woman can.”
This episode is for you—whether you’re single or married, just beginning your journey or decades in. When we begin to see our bodies through the lens of design instead of dysfunction, we open the door to deeper connection with God and more freedom in every part of life.
“We’re moving through these huge life milestones without open, educated, truthful conversations about our bodies and sexuality. That has to change.”
Integration is Foundational
One of the most important truths I share is this: integration is foundational.
We are not just souls floating through life—we are embodied beings. Your spirituality is not meant to be detached from your physicality. Integration means bringing your body, your mind, and your spirit into alignment with God’s original design. It means wholeness. It means presence. It means no longer ignoring or numbing parts of yourself in order to be accepted or "holy."
So many of us were taught to disconnect from our bodies—to ignore our desires, shut down our emotions, or numb our needs. But here’s the truth: if you can’t feel, you can’t heal. God wants to meet you in your full humanity. Healing doesn’t come by bypassing the body; it comes by welcoming it back into the conversation of faith.
Integration is where healing begins—because it’s where you stop compartmentalizing and start allowing God to move through all of you.
So wherever you are on your journey, I hope this episode encourages you, equips you, and helps you take one step closer to wholeness.
