Ep. 246 | The Best Gift I Gave My Husband
PLAY THE EPISODE
By Francie Winslow
As Christmas sparkles around us and the world hums with gift-giving frenzy, I want to share something a little different… an idea to bring connection that is simple and completely free.
This week I’m sharing a podcast episode from a few years ago, because it recaps a simple concept that turned into a gift that kept giving. It was “the best gift I gave my husband,” and in giving it, I received something unexpected too: deeper connection, healing, and joy.
This gift didn’t come from a store or a well-timed sale. It came from my heart, offered in vulnerability, wrapped in intention. It was a simple question that tapped into the tender side that only I get the gift of seeing.
Why It Mattered
At first, I wasn’t sure what he would say. But I knew I wanted to love him well, not just in the ways I naturally lean toward, but in the ways he receives love. This question helped me see into his heart and learn what affirms him, what helps him feel known and cherished.
It opened up conversations we hadn’t had in a long time.
It helped me speak words that actually landed, in his heart, not just in the air.
And more than that, it invited us both into a space of vulnerability, healing, and deeper intimacy.
Words That Heal
Our words hold such tender power. They can build or tear down. This question unlocked a new way of speaking life into my marriage, not out of pressure, but out of love.
And it cost nothing but courage. Tune in and hear me unpack this simple question… I hope it will bring blessing to your marriage as it has to mine.
